Surlean Foods is built on a family tradition of quality dating back to 1963 when Al Leonard
founded L&H Packing to supply the finest beef and pork.

As L&H Packing grew into one of the largest cow and bull slaughter facilities in Texas, Ken Leonard
was looking ahead to controlled, pasture-to-table meat products. That vision came to life as
Surlean Foods in 1979.

A third venture, New Earth, was formed in 1982 to “give new life to waste
and replenish the earth” with composts, mulches, soils and customized blends.

Quality and service continue to drive Surlean Foods today. We believe that makes a real difference in
the results we achieve for our customers.
